There is a saying that ‘you can only see a laser beam twice – once for each eye’. At Excel Lasers, in our long experience, we have never encountered any eye injury due to unsafe use of a surgical diode laser. However, the importance of wearing laser safety eyewear, as well as following basic laser safety procedures, cannot be overstated.
Our laser safety eyewear is tested and certified to EN 207 and comes in a wide range of filters and frame styles. See overleaf for specifications of the filter, including the range of wavelengths, level of protection and visible light transmittance (VLT).
The manufacturer of your laser will have specified the minimum protection rating in the operator manual – just tell us what it is and we will select the best eyewear for you. If you cannot find the rating, or would like full data on any of our products, contact us and we will help you to choose the correct eyewear.

Excel Lasers’ safety eyewear is available in four frame styles:
|33||A classic universal comfortable design in black. It is ideal for wearing over normal spectacles or just on its own.|
|55||A lightweight wraparound frame in grey. This is ideal for the smaller face or if you don’t wear spectacles and want a compact shape.|
|36||A white frame with black arms which are adjustable in length.|
|52||Similar to style 33 in white.|

All of Excel Lasers’ safety eyewear is manufactured by LaserPair and certified to EN 207, with the exception of the IPL filter, which is for use with Intense Pulsed Light systems and therefore certified to EN 166.
